So long Big John.

A piece of history leaves N.S. Mayport one last time.
MAYPORT, Fla. -- The decommissioned aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy departed Mayport Naval Station for the last time Thursday morning after a two-day delay because of storm damage to the towing equipment.

The 38-year-old ship was towed from the Navy base and will make a five-day trip to Hampton Roads, Va. The ship will spend the rest of the summer in Virginia to avoid hurricanes that could threaten Mayport. (Source.)
