David A. Gore Executed.

Yeah, it took long enough too.

RAIFORD — David A. Gore was executed Thursday for the murder of 17-year-old Lynn Elliott of Vero Beach — with an apology to the girl's family on his lips.

A last appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court was rejected earlier in the day and Gore, 58, who was labeled a serial killer for killing Elliott and five others, was pronounced dead at 6:19 p.m. as he was still strapped to a gurney at the Florida State Prison here.

Nearly 30 years after his conviction, Gore's execution was right on schedule. He was declared dead 10 minutes after being administered a lethal injection.

A book published earlier this year contained letters in which the former auxiliary deputy with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office graphically described the abductions, torture and killings that Gore admitted to — details that may have played a part in his execution being moved ahead of 399 other Florida death row inmates.

But Thursday, Gore called himself a Christian and apologized specifically to the Elliott family in a last statement both written and spoken. Source
Funny how they claim to be Christians after having to live with their mayhem.

Reginald Brooks Executed

Ohio serves justice by executing the completely worthless thug to the very end Reginald Brooks.

LUCASVILLE, Ohio, Nov 15, 2011 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Reginald Brooks was executed Tuesday for killing his three sons in 1982 while they slept in their East Cleveland, Ohio, home, prison officials said.

The execution by lethal injection at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility near Lucasville, was delayed for several hours Tuesday while a federal judge ruled on his competency. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied Brooks final appeal, prison officials said

Prisons spokesman Carlo LoParo said Brooks' lawyers decided not to appeal the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.

Brooks was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m. EST, the newspaper said. Source

This is the news story.

Here is the way the worthless turd really went out.

2:41 p.m. update: There were three of the victims’ family members and one friend who observed the execution. All of them were wearing t-shirts with the three brothers’ photos on them.

2:21 p.m. update: When asked if he had any final words, Brooks said “No.” Once the warden gave the go-ahead to inject him, Brooks stuck out his middle finger. Those who witnessed the execution gasped. As he slowly went to sleep, his middle finger stayed sticking up.  Source

Frank Martinez Garcia Executed

Texas serves justice.

Frank Martinez Garcia, 39, was executed by lethal injection on 27 October 2011 in Huntsville, Texas for the murder of his wife and a police officer during an argument.

On 29 March 2001 in San Antonio, Jessica Garcia, 21, called her stepmother, Sylvia Duran, and said she was ready to leave the home she was sharing with her husband, Frank, then 28, their two children, 5 and 2, and Frank's parents. Duran came to pick her up, bringing Jessica's uncle and aunt, John and Rosario Luna.

Meanwhile, Frank's mother, Eustacia Garcia, 68, called her son at work to alert him that Jessica was attempting to leave with the children. He rushed home to stop her.

When Duran and the Lunas arrived, Jessica came outside. Frank then rushed up, grabbed his wife in a headlock, and dragged her inside.

San Antonio police officer Hector Garza, 48, arrived at the house. It was his second visit to the home that morning. He went inside and entered the bedroom where the couple was arguing. When he attempted to separate them, Garcia, who had his back to Garza, suddenly spun around and shot him in the head with a Mac-10 semiautomatic handgun. He then shot Jessica six times, killing her. He then went outside, firing wildly until he was out of ammunition. He went back inside, picked up an AK-47 rifle, and shot Garza again as he lay on the ground. Source

Christopher Johnson Executed

Alabama serves justice

ATMORE, Alabama --

An Alabama death row inmate convicted of brutally beating and suffocating his infant son in February 2005 was executed tonight.

The lethal injection was administered to Christopher Johnson shortly before 6pm.  The exact time of death was 6:25pm.

Christopher Johnson had refused to pursue any appeals in an attempt to stop the execution. The 38-year-old Johnson filed court papers in May saying he didn't want to go to court on his behalf.

Johnson was convicted of killing his 6-month-old son, Elias Ocean Johnson, at the family's home in Atmore in February 2005.

Johnson represented himself during part of his trial and testified that he hit and suffocated his son because he hated his wife and didn't want to be near her. The wife, Dana Johnson, now lives in Arizona and is not expected to attend the execution. Source

Manuel Valle Executed

Florida serves justice.

STARKE — A Florida man convicted of killing a police officer during a traffic stop 33 years ago has been executed at the Florida State Prison.

Manuel Valle, 61, was administered a lethal injection and pronounced dead at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday, the governor's office reported. Valle was the first Florida inmate to face execution using the state's newly revised mix of lethal drugs, a concoction that faced legal challenges which twice delayed carrying out the death sentence.

Valle fatally shot Coral Gables officer Louis Pena on April 2, 1978, after Pena stopped Valle for a traffic violation while driving a stolen car, according to court records. He also shot fellow officer Gary Spell, who survived and would testify against Valle in court.

Spell testified that when he arrived the day of the shooting, Valle was seated in Pena's patrol car. As Pena was checking the license plate of the car Valle had been driving, Valle walked back to the car, reached inside and then walked back and fired a single shot at Pena, the records indicate. He then fired two shots at Spell, who was saved by his bulletproof vest, the records show. Valle fled and was arrested two days later.   Source: NaplesNews

Derrick O. Mason Executed

Alabama serves justice.

ATMORE, Ala. -- A man described by a police informant as trying to make a name for himself was executed Thursday evening for the 1994 shooting death of an Alabama store clerk during a robbery.

Derrick O. Mason, 37, was administered an injection and pronounced dead minutes later at 6:49 p.m. local time at Alabama's Holman Prison. It was the third execution this week in the United States.

Strapped to the gurney, Mason gave a brief statement, apologizing to the victim's family "for the hurt and pain I caused" them. He thanked the victim's father for getting in touch years ago and granting him his forgiveness. Just before the chemicals began coursing through the veins in Mason's arm, a prison chaplain held his hand and kneeled and said a prayer before stepping back. Source.

Lawrence Russell Brewer Executed

 Texas serves justice.

His sentence handed down in Brazos County, one of the men behind a gruesome East Texas murder in 1998 has been executed.

Lawrence Russell Brewer was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday night in Huntsville, nearly 12 years to the day he was transported from the courthouse in Bryan to Death Row in Livingston.

Brewer and two others were found responsible for the beating and dragging death of James Byrd Jr., a racially-motivated act by Brewer, a professed white supremacist.

There were no appeals filed on Brewer's behalf.

"There were a lot of tears coming from his parents," said Lindsey Kovacevich, a reporter for KFDM in Beaumont who witnessed the execution. "His brother never once looked at Brewer until, finally, it was over."

Witnesses say Brewer only looked at the room with his family, not the one holding Byrd's family.

"James stood up for us," Byrd's sister Clara Taylor said after the execution. "He had our back all the time. He was the life of our family. He would be happy to see us standing up for him."

Taylor said she believes the death penalty should be used on a case-by-case basis, and that it was warranted in Brewer's case.

When asked if it felt like it had been 12 years since her family had been in Bryan to witness Brewer's trial, she said "it's been a long time. It's been a long time. I've aged. It's taken its toll on all of us." Source.

Troy Davis Executed

Georgia serves justice with the execution of Troy Davis.

JACKSON, Ga. — Georgia executed Troy Davis on Wednesday night for the murder of an off-duty police officer, a crime he denied committing right to the end as supporters around the world mourned and declared that an innocent man was put to death.

Defiant to the end, he told relatives of Mark MacPhail that his 1989 slaying was not his fault. "I did not have a gun," he insisted. "For those about to take my life," he told prison officials, "may God have mercy on your souls. May God bless your souls."

Davis was declared dead at 11:08 p.m. The lethal injection began about 15 minutes earlier, after the Supreme Court rejected an 11th-hour request for a stay. The court did not comment on its order, which came about four hours after it received the request and more than three hours after the planned execution time. Source.

I am glad this will be out of the headlines now. It spent too much time as a news story. I thought they were trying to make him out to be a Mumia Abu-Jama from the horrible travesty of justice that the Officer Daniel Faulkner story is. You have to hand it the Philadelphia, they know how to screw up justice.

Steven Michael Woods Executed

 Texas serves justice.

Steven Michael Woods Jr., 31, was executed by lethal injection on 13 September 2011 in Huntsville, Texas for the murder and robbery of two people.

Early in the morning of 2 May 2001, two golfers driving on a golf course road in The Colony - a suburb on the north side of Dallas - discovered two victims lying beside a car. Ron Whitehead, 21, had been shot in the head six times and his neck was cut four times. Bethena Brosz, 19, was shot twice in the head, once in the knee, and her throat was also cut. Whitehead was dead. Brosz was alive and given medical treatment, but died the next day.

The police received several anonymous tips that Woods, then 21, and Marcus Rhodes, 23, were involved in the killings. Detectives interviewed Woods, who admitted being with the victims the night before their bodies were found at Insomnia, a coffee shop in Dallas's Deep Ellum entertainment district. Woods said that he and Rhodes had agreed to lead Whitehead and Brosz to a house in The Colony, but that their two vehicles became separated during the trip, so he and Rhodes returned to Deep Ellum. Woods was not arrested as a result of this interview.

Jerry Terrell Jackson executed

Virginia serves Justice.

JARRATT, Va. — A man who raped and suffocated an 88-year-old woman was executed, becoming Virginia's first inmate to be given a lethal injection using a revised three-drug cocktail.

Jerry Terrell Jackson, 30, was pronounced dead at 9:14 p.m. Thursday at Greensville Correctional Center.

Asked if he had any final words, Jackson shook his head and said "no" under his breath. As he waited for the drugs to be administered, he tapped his foot as he lay strapped to a stainless steel gurney. The execution team took about 15 minutes to insert two intravenous lines, one into each arm. Within four minutes of the lines being inserted, he was pronounced dead.

Jackson was sentenced to death for the 2001 rape and murder of seamstress Ruth Phillips in her Williamsburg apartment.

Like other states, Virginia recently replaced sodium thiopental with pentobarbital after a nationwide shortage of the sedative, which is administered before two other drugs that stop the inmate's breathing and heart. Attorneys in some states have contested the use of pentobarbital, but federal courts have ruled the change is not significant enough to stop executions.  Read more at Chron.

Martin Robles Executed

Texas serves Justice.

Martin Robles, 33, was executed by lethal injection on 10 August 2011 in Huntsville, Texas for the murder of two people in their home.

On 12 November 2002, Robles, then 24 and Joe "Magic" Padron, 26, entered a Corpus Christi house in the early morning and shot two occupants - John Commisky and Jesus Gonzalez, both 19 - to death. They then went outside and drove away in a maroon Chevrolet Trail Blazer. A third occupant of the house, Antonio Ortiz, called 9-1-1 after the killers left.

The autopsies determined that Gonzalez had been shot at least fifteen times, mainly in the head, while Commisky was shot at least fourteen times, mostly in the back. They were both shot from a distance of no more than two-and-a-half feet.

At Robles' trial, Ortiz testified that he was asleep in the front of the house when he heard shots being fired. He got up and looked down the hall to see two men dressed in black and wearing masks, shooting at Commisky and Gonzalez. Ortiz testified that even though the shooters were wearing masks, he recognized them as Robles and Padron based on their builds and his previous encounters with them. He also testified that he saw the men removing their masks after they got in their vehicle, and he recognized Robles as one of the men who removed his mask.   Link

Smyrna — While most of Delaware slept, a bleak chapter in the lives of a Hockessin family was finally put to rest after nearly two decades.

Thomas West Executed

Justice was served in Arizona.

FLORENCE - Thomas West went quietly.

The convicted killer turned down a last meal Monday night and decided not to pronounce any last words Tuesday morning as he lay strapped to a table in the death chamber at the state prison in Florence.

Instead, he sent a message to his attorneys with pre-arranged hand signals and flashed them a peace sign. Then he closed his eyes as the prison warden read the warrant for execution and never opened them again.

Lethal chemicals coursed through his veins at 11:01 a.m., and nine minutes later, he was pronounced dead. He was 52. AZCentral

Andrew Grant DeYoung Executed

Justice was served.

DeYoung was declared dead at 8:04 p.m., fewer than 15 minutes after the process began. Lying prone, he barely moved throughout the execution. His parting words were: "I'm sorry for everyone I've hurt."

For the first time in Georgia, a videographer was present in the execution chamber, documenting DeYoung's death and his reaction to a new three-drug lethal injection that anti-death penalty activists said caused unnecessary pain and suffering. The videographer, accompanied by a woman taking notes, stood off to the side and was barely visible to witnesses.

DeYoung, however, only blinked his eyes and swallowed repeatedly, and showed no violent signs in death. He was checked by a nurse for consciousness shortly into the execution, a new procedure put in place. At 8:22 p.m., he was taken from the prison in a black Butts County Coronor van.

It is believed this was the first execution involving lethal injection that was videotaped in the nation. In 1992, a California execution was recorded on video, but the gas chamber was in use. The execution of Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber, was shown live over a closed-circuit broadcast from an Indiana prison to victims or family members of the deceased watching in Oklahoma City.

DeYoung was put to death for murdering his parents and his 14-year-old sister in 1993. A brother, 16, escaped the mayhem after hearing the commotion and running from the family's east Cobb County house to safety at a neighbor's home. DeYoung was captured within hours.

A Kennesaw State University student and 19 at the time, DeYoung went on the killing spree apparently thinking it would enable him to receive $480,000 in inheritance for a business venture. AJC

Mark Anthony Stroman Executed

Humberto Leal Executed

Texas serves justice with the execution of Humberto Leal.

In Texas if you kill a U.S. citizen then you die by the state. Now if only there was a penalty like this for those criminal aliens.

The state of Texas executed Humberto Leal Garcia, 38, on Thursday, hours after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a bid by the Obama administration to spare the life of the Mexican national accused in the 1994 rape-murder of a San Antonio teenager, the Associated Press reported.

An attorney for Leal, Sandra L. Babcock, criticized the court's decision.

“Today the United States stumbled in its commitment to the rule of law. Mr. Leal, tragically, will suffer the consequences. He will be executed tonight, despite the fact that his right to consular assistance was violated. If he had had the assistance of the Mexican consulate at the time of trial, Mr. Leal would have had a meaningful opportunity to show that he was not guilty of capital murder," a statement from Babcock said. Source

Lawyer Babcock needs to understand that he was found guilty by a jury of his peers. His sentence was death and that was what he got, unlike Casey Anthony.
