Why is this news, Could it be about race?
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A third 'whites only' sign has been found on Jacksonville's Southside.
"I was just so angry," said Jenny Roy. "I'm still shaking." Roy saw the sign at the westbound exit from SR9A onto Beach Boulevard. It was tied to a yield sign.
"I got out of my car and tried to pull it down," said Roy.
The sign read: "Bourbon St. Whites Only""It made me sick to my stomach that somebody would do this - again," said Roy.
It is some juvenile minded miscreant that wants some attention; well he got some.
Six weeks ago, two signs were discovered with the same message. One was in Arlington. The other was on St. Johns Bluff Road.
Managers at Bourbon Street Station, a bar on St. Johns Bluff Road, have said they have nothing to do with the signs.
Two signs six weeks ago? Some people need to quit be so offended by everything.
My reason why this is getting so much attention; it is about race. My guess is that if the sign had said "Blacks only" the sign would have been removed with out a word.
Jacksonville has many problems and racism is not one of them, until now.

Robert Stacy Yarbrough Executed
By FRANK GREEN
TIMES-DISPATCH STAFF WRITER
Cyril Hugh Hamby's life seeped away on the floor of his small Mecklenburg County business as it was robbed of beer, wine, cigarettes and cash the night of May 8, 1997.
The 77-year-old proprietor of Hamby's store died slowly, his neck cut front and back, his head bruised from kicks, his hands and feet bound with shoelaces and electrical cord.
A father and grandfather, Hamby had been in business more than 50 years.
His killer, Robert S. Yarbrough, was 18, his murder weapon, a pocketknife.
When first sentenced in 1999, Yarbrough told the judge, "I haven't lived. I haven't seen anything."
All I have to add to the execution of convict Yarbrough is, Tough shit, you should have thought of that before you murdered Cyril Hugh Hamby.

Alligators; the numbers need to be thinned out
OKEECHOBEE, Fla. -- A man whose arm was ripped off his body by an 11-foot alligator survived the attack by gouging its eyes during its death roll.
Kasey Edwards, 18, was swimming with some friends at Nubbin Slough, a canal near Lake Okeechobee, Sunday when he was attacked.
"(The alligator) took my left arm off about 4 inches above the elbow," Edwards told WKMG-TV. "It was a pretty humbling experience."

I would be inclined to agree with this kid.
Honey; I'm home; unlock the door.
Edwards said he was face-to-face with the gator during the attack."
I looked back and the gator surfaced and I looked him right in the face and stared at him for 10 seconds," Edwards said from Holmes Regional Medical Center in Central Florida.
Edwards said during the fight with the alligator, he was not aware he was missing an arm.

Fear of losing ones life makes you ignore pain, at the moment.
They need to go on a massive alligator hunt down here. Daddy needs some new boots, Mommy needs a new purse and Baby needs to be safe.
Now if I could only find these in black.

Unbelievably stupid people in Jacksonville
I am sure there are stupid people in your neighborhoods too. I am lucky enough to have this ass-hat live directly behind me.Who would have thought that the Dracula Clan would curse my existence with these late night mowings (yeah it's not a word)?

Back to the bitching I was doing; as I turned down the bed for some much needed rest at 10:05 PM, there was annoying noise. It was thundering in my sleep deprived ears. It was Drac's weed eater.

Normally I am not the type who just snaps, but before I knew what I was doing, my bedroom window was open and I was yelling (and boy can I get a holler going) "WHAT IN HELL ARE YOU MOWING AT 10:30 FOR?!?!" If I could have gotten the damn window screen off, it would have been a great relief for me to vault over the fence and pour an entire can of whoop ass on Drac's useless ass while beating the shit out of him with his weed eater.
Needless to say the sound suddenly stopped, a child was heard saying "Daddy, who yells late at night like that?" Then the lights went off, it was as quiet as a graveyard back there.

Just the way I like it.

Another child killed by a Pit Bull
I agree with everything he said.
In particular this rings true:
Sorry, but it’s usually both. And while there are some good pit bull owners out there…there is no way to train away the instinct to attack and kill that is the dominant instinct in these dangerous animals.

Hanging and how it works
It seems to be a hell of a lot cheaper than the lethal injection given to the murderers in this country.
The leftists are so concerned with giving the utmost care and dignity to people who have brutally murdered someone else. Did the victims that were murdered by these killers get the same care and dignity?
In the final days of 2006, former Iraqi ruler Saddam Hussein was hanged for the 1982 murders of 148 people in Dujail, Iraq. While capital punishment is still on the books in many countries around the world, death by hanging has in many cases been replaced by more sterile killing methods like lethal injection, which some believe to be a more humane form of execution. Many people might be surprised to learn that hanging, when carried out with modern techniques, can be one of the quickest and most painless ways to be execute

Saddam was the last infamous mass murder to be hung.
The modern method of judicial hanging is called the long drop. This is the method that Iraqi officials used to execute Saddam Hussein. In the long drop, those planning the execution calculate the drop distance required to break the subject's neck based on his or her weight, height and build. They typically aim to get the body moving quickly enough after the trap door opens to produce between 1,000 and 1,250 foot-pounds of torque on the neck when the noose jerks tight. This distance can be anywhere from 5 to 9 feet (1.5 to 2.7 meters). With the knot of the noose placed at the left side of the subject's neck, under the jaw, the jolt to the neck at the end of the drop is enough to break or dislocate a neck bone called the axis, which in turn should sever the spinal cord. In some cases, the hangman jerks up on the rope at the precise moment when the drop is ending in order to facilitate the breakage.
This is the ideal situation in a long drop. When the neck breaks and severs the spine, blood pressure drops down to nothing in about a second, and the subject loses consciousness. Brain death then takes several minutes to occur, and complete death can take more than 15 or 20 minutes, but the person at the end of the rope most likely can't feel or experience any of it.

Japan Hangs 3 Convicted Murderers
Capital Punishment at Highest Level in 30 Years
By Blaine Harden
Washington Post Foreign Service
Tuesday, June 17, 2008; 1:10 PM
TOKYO, June 17 -- Japan hanged three convicted murderers on Tuesday, bringing the number of executions to 13 in the past six months and ramping up the pace of capital punishment to the highest level in more than three decades.
There is broad public support here for the death penalty and one of those hanged on Tuesday was among the most reviled serial killers in Japan's recent history.
Tsutomu Miyazaki, 45, killed four young girls in the late 1980s and left the charred bones of one 4-year-old victim on her parents' doorstep. The Supreme Court, rejecting his final appeal, said he was motivated by a desire for sex and to make videos with his victims' corpses.
Still, Japan, host next month to a summit of the Group of Eight industrialized powers, is under mounting international pressure to halt executions.
The U.N. General Assembly, in a nonbinding resolution passed in December, called on all countries to impose a moratorium on executions as a step toward abolishing the death penalty. Human rights groups, the European Union and some Japanese legislators are also leaning on the Tokyo government to impose a moratorium.
I have always wondered why this country allows a convicted murder to outlive their victims for years and years before justice gets served.

Parents accused of tying teen to tree expected in court
Macclesfield, N.C. — A father and stepmother accused of killing their 13-year-old son by tying him to a tree are expected in an Edgecombe County courtroom Monday.
Brice Brian McMillan, 41, and Sandra Elizabeth McMillan, 36, both of 1110 Felton Farm Road in Macclesfield, are charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse. They were being held in the Edgecombe County Detention Center without bond.
Deputies responded to the Felton Farm Road residence Thursday afternoon to assist paramedics with an unresponsive teen.
Brice McMillan told deputies he tied his son, Tyler Gene McMillan, to a tree outside the home Tuesday night because the teen was being disobedient and other disciplinary actions had failed. The father said he untied Tyler Wednesday morning and allowed him back into the house, but the teen was tied to the tree a second time that night when he started acting up again.
Tyler remained tied up until his stepmother found him unconscious at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

The Golden Years
An all to common story today.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Two employees of a group home in Gainesville were arrested on charges they abused disabled residents.
Harold Martin and Henrietta Agyei, staff members at Elevations Group Home, were taken into custody by Gainesville police and law enforcement officers with the attorney general's Medicaid fraud control unit.
Authorities began to investigate when a witness reported seeing Martin grab a disabled resident by the neck and throw the resident into a wall. Another witness reported seeing Agyei batter a disabled adult with a belt.
According to the arrest affidavit, the witness reported seeing Martin, 51, throw a client head-first into the wall of one of the facility's classroom after accusing the client of stealing someone's food. The force left a hole in the wall that was immediately repaired by another staff member.
Records show the client did not receive medical attention and the incident was not reported to the Department of Children and Family.
According to the arrest affidavit on Agyei, the client showed a witness bruises on his back and the top of his buttocks that appeared to be left by a beating with a belt. When asked, the client said Agyei had beaten him because he had wet his pants.

Pitbulls in the news again
These dog owners always say the same thing, "his pet had never escaped the fence."JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A recent encounter with two pit bulls left a Tallyrand woman with several cuts and bruises and left her pet Chihuahua dead.
Ana Morales-Wagner said she and her Chihuahua named Rusty were walking at the intersection of East 11th and Danese streets on Tuesday morning when her neighbor's two pit bulls slipped under a fence and attacked."
It came over and bit my hand -- got my neck, bit my finger and I was dragging," Morales-Wagner said. "One of them came charging and attacked my dog. I tried getting him off, hitting him with a stick."
She said from that point on, it was a struggle."I tried to get him off -- screaming, 'Get your dog. Get your dog.' I tried to hit him with a stick, but that didn't do nothing," said Morales-Wagner.
She told Channel 4 that as she was trying to fight off the dog, a good Samaritan drove up, got out of his car and began to help her. However, as the good Samaritan was calling 911, the second pit bull approached."
The black-and-white dog came out and started to chew my dog where the other one was," Morales-Wagner said.
Rusty did not survive the attack.
Larry Platts owns the dogs police said came after Morales-Wagner and Rusty.
Platts said before Tuesday his pet had never escaped the fence.
"I do send my deepest regrets. I've been around to see the victim. I hope she does better, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help the situation out," Platts said.

Guest Post - The Wife on her Novel
When Abriel's former husband ships her back to her father like faulty merchandise, Abriel decides to cast off her husband's god and start her new life with a new patron god. Never mind that adage about renounced gods sometimes coming back for vengeance. She swears allegiance to Verit, the god of Truth, and when he challenges her to become a warrior, she accepts. And although she returns from training able to swing a sword well enough to defeat her teacher, she has problems that no mortal weapon can vanquish.
In an age-old contest among the gods for the celestial throne, Abriel is now Verit's chosen game piece. A divine contest requires divine stakes, and in order for Verit even to be able to compete, Abriel must become nothing short of a living legend. And nothing forges a legend quite as well as adversity. Therefore, when a hurricane threatens, Verit pushes it in her direction. When Abriel's old god betrays her, Verit takes no action. And when another deity challenges Abriel to a series of arena battles, Verit watches with greedy interest. For if she can defeat a god, he will have his legend.
However, if she is able to defeat a god, then are the gods truly divine? Or will she be able to claim divinity, herself?
It's a fantasy (obviously). No agent yet, but a few agents have either chapters or the whole book, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Wish me luck!

The Illegal aliens and the inept Mexican Government
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands --
Mexico appealed to the U.N.'s highest court Thursday to block the executions of Mexicans in the United States, arguing that U.S. officials have failed to comply with a judgment ordering a review of their trials.
The International Court of Justice said Mexico asked the court for an ''interpretation'' of an earlier ruling to clarify its meaning when it asked the U.S. to ''review and reconsider'' the cases of the condemned prisoners.
Interpretation? Here is one, You illegally , criminally, sneak into the USA and kill law abiding American citizens you get the DEATH PENALTY.
Until that can be done, Mexico said the United States ''must take any and all steps necessary'' to ensure that none of its citizens is executed, and asked the court to take urgent measures to intercede.
This from a country who cannot or will not control their drug cartels and openly send the murdering, drug carrying, uneducated dregs of Mexican society here for a better criminal life.
The court, informally known as the World Court, ruled in 2004 that the convictions of some 50 Mexicans on death row around the United States violated the 1963 Vienna Convention, which provides that people arrested abroad can have access to their home country's consular officials.
The court, which sits in The Hague, said the Mexicans should have new hearings in U.S. courts to determine whether the violation affected their cases.
That is a great place for the clueless world court. I am not the citizen of the world. I am a citizen of the United States of America. One Nation under God for which it stands.
President Bush accepted the judgment and asked state courts to review the cases. Texas refused.
No surprise here actually. Thank you Texas for having Texas sized balls.
Jose Medellin, a 33-year-old inmate condemned in the gang rape and murder of two teenage girls 15 years ago, appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court on the basis of the World Court's ruling.

Curtis Osborne Executed
Executioners struggled for 35 minutes to find a vein before Curtis Osborne died by lethal injection Wednesday for a 1990 Spalding County double murder. Osborne, 37, was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m., 14 minutes after his executioners injected the first of three fatal drugs.
Looks like he was scared of death. He should have considered this when he killed two people, one just because "she was there."
He was the second man Georgia has executed in a month. He also was the fourth person in the country to die by lethal injection since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the method was constitutional.
A applaud Georgia for seeing to it that Justice is Served.
Osborne was executed for shooting Arthur Jones and Linda Lisa Seaborne on Aug. 7, 1990. Osborne allegedly killed Jones because Osborne didn't want to give him the $400 he got for selling Jones' motorcycle. Seaborne was killed because she was there. (Source)

Derrick J. Sonnier -Execution Stayed
Derrick J. Sonnier was scheduled to be today but a court of appeals stays the execution. On Sept. 16, 1991, police found Melody Flowers, 27, in the bathtub of her Humble apartment. The single mother of five had been bludgeoned with a claw hammer, raped, strangled and stabbed. Her body was dumped in the partially filled bathtub and the body of her toddler, Patrick, also stabbed, was on top of her.
Sonnier was dating one of Flowers' friends and lived just two doors away from her apartment. Authorities said he stalked Flowers for months, sometimes slipping into her apartment when she was away.
One time, she found him hiding in her bedroom closet, authorities said.
The day of the murders, neighbors reported seeing Sonnier with a wounded hand wrapped in a bloody towel. In his apartment, where he lived with his girlfriend, police found Flowers' bloody blouse and a blood-soaked towel that also belonged to her.
Police said they later found a grocery bag stashed in a field near the complex that had his bloody socks, shoes and other items that linked him to the crime. (Source)
