ACWORTH, Ga. -- Three boys, ages 8 and 9, were being held Monday in a detention center on charges of kidnapping and raping an 11-year-old girl near a suburban apartment complex, officials said.
The alleged attack happened Thursday and the girl's mother reported it to authorities Sunday, Acworth police Capt. Wayne Dennard said."
The victim said they were playing outdoors and the girl was forced into a wooded area where she was sexually assaulted, where one of the boys raped her," Dennard told The Associated Press. H/T News4JAX

So when you have the time head on over to and check the entry on her blog.
The name pretty much says it all. The site is new, as I just helped get it together today for a wonderful man named John, who does the memorial tees and makes sure that all the proceeds from the sale go to the family of the LODD officer. [Katey's Kafé]

MACCLENNY, Fla. -- The guardian of a 7-year-old boy hospitalized for malnutrition and several injuries was arrested in what the Baker County sheriff calls one of the worst cases of child abuse he has seen. The woman's domestic partner was also arrested.
Suzette Stevenson, 45, and Jamie Lynn Martin, 26, are both charged with aggravated child abuse.
When the boy was found wandering at the Westgate Resort in Osceola County two weeks ago, he told authorities he was given drugs to put him to sleep and left in a car for several hours while the two women checked out a time-share property.
These two do not deserve to live in my opinion.
The charges were filed after investigators checked out the boy's claim of ongoing abuse at their home, including several beatings. The boy also said he had been kicked in the stomach, tied to a wall and denied food. H/T News4JAX

WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Four family members are accused of holding a young woman captive for 10 years, repeatedly tying her up and beating her.
Three adults and a juvenile -- the victim's mother, her mother's boyfriend, her sister and her 12-year-old brother -- were charged with kidnapping and aggravated battery after what Hamilton County Sheriff Harrell Reid called years of violent treatment of a mentally challenged woman, now 27.
"One of the most severe cases of abuse that I have ever seen. She had been falsely imprisoned in her own home by members of her family that beat her, that tied her up," said Reid.
Martha Irene Turner, 46, and Johnny Nichols, 43, were taken into custody by Hamilton County deputies. Jessica Lynn Turner, 23, was arrested in Columbia County, where the family moved after the victim escaped. (Source)

An orangutan sighting has Baker County residents going ape, and now Fish and Wildlife officials are hoping to lure the animal out of the trees using a secret weapon: doughnuts.
Although the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission can't confirm it was an ape, some people reported seeing a "big orange ball of fur," said Karen Parker, Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman. Some think it's just a spider monkey or a squirrel. Others are seriously investigating whether it was a "baby Bigfoot."
One thing is for sure, the animal is still on the loose and it apparently has a hunger for jelly doughnuts. Story Here.
Beefing up security might be needed at places where said delights are baked.

Thug of the Day.
A 19-year-old shot twice by an undercover police officer during a
drug operation Monday night remains hospitalized and will face criminal charges.
Police identified the teenager in the police-involved shooting as Johnny Smith.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Assistant Chief Rick Graham said that while the officers were completing a drug buy, Smith grabbed the cash and pulled a gun on the two undercover officers.
Graham said the sheriff's officers were working in the area
because of complaints about drug-trafficking.
"Because of the quick action taken by detective Bowen the suspect
was not able to kill or seriously injure our two detectives," Graham said.
If the perp gets a life sentence, and with some good behavior it is likely he will serve about 40 years. The thug will be 59 when he re emerges in society.
This is a good message the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is sending. You never know if the person you are robbing will be armed and put a couple of caps in your ass.

Thank a Veteran.
Today is also General George S. Pattons Birthday.
The Patton Prayer.
"Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen."

Singapore Airlines said it would ask passengers on the A380 to refrain from sex while ensconced in one of its 12 first-class suites, which boast the world's first airborne double beds.
"All we ask of customers, wherever they are on our aircraft, is to observe standards that don't cause offense to other customers and crew," the company told Reuters in a statement.
"Nothing different applies for our Singapore Airlines Suites customers." [Source]
